11 Processing the leaves Many months and in some cases years will pass before the leaf is ready to make an Habano. 1.Curing 60-90 days After this process the leaves go to the factory.

Stripping 2. 1 st Fermentation sweats out impurities in the leaf, reducing acidity, tar and nicotine. 35-45 days filler and binder leaf 5. 2nd Fermentation filler and binder leaf 6. Ageing Could take until 3 months, and depending on the leaf, 3 or more fermentations The fullest-flavoured leaf is aged the longest and the lightest-flavoured leaf is aged the least. Like a fine wine, the longer the wine is left to mature, the better it will be.
