Introduction Brazil is a country located in South America. It is the fifth most populous country, and is the fifth most largest country by geographical area. The green background on the national flag stands for the forests in Brazil. The yellow is the minerals found there, and the 28 stars represent each state, and one star is for the federal district. Foods The foods eaten in Brazil are a mix of their many ways of cooking. The most important meal is lunch, where they usually eat meat stew. But every Saturday, most Brazilians eat feijoada ( fay-jhoo- AH-dah) which is a meal with dried and smoked beans with black beans. Another famous food is seafood, for it is often considered a snack.

Sports The most famous sport in Brazil is futebol (soccer). The Brazilian soccer team has won 5 National FIFA World Cups. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Robinho, and Pele are some famous people who have been on the team. Basketball, volleyball, tennis, boxing, auto-racing, mountain- climbing, water-skiing, water-diving, and spelunking are some other famous sports in Brazil.

Schools Brazil has both private and public schools. The public schools are free, and the kids go in about 4 hour blocks. You go from the age of seven to seventeen. If you want to attend college, you must pass a test called the vestibular.(vehs-tee- boo-LAHR
