1. God’s Purpose for the Church Ephesians 1: 3-14

2. the church is defined not by the culture but by the Scripture. That it is God who defines the church not the society around us. What we need to be concerned about being obedient to Scripture and leaving the consequences to the Lord.

3. CHURCH a Greek word ekklesia, a noun, that comes out of a group verb kaleo, which means to call. ekklesia is simply the called, the called ones, those called together. Romans 8:28 called according to God's purposeRomans 8:28 a definition of what we are and what we are to be in the world.

4. The Called = The Church What is CBCM? We're a group of people especially summoned together by God for his purposes. We are an assembly of people called by God. The real identity of the church then is determined by divine purpose.

5. Romans 1:6 Romans 1:6 you also are the called of Jesus Christ to all who are beloved of God in Rome called together as saints. God has called us into being. We are the handy work of God for his purposes. The church is the work of God let God be at work and to allow the church to be the church

6. The Church = The Called Ones = CBCM We are a gathering of people that have been brought together by divine supernatural power through the work of God in salvation. We've been summoned by God.

Our Calling as Church Called Before verse 3 “blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who's blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world. “ In verse 5, he predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself John 6:4, No man comes except the father draws him.John 6:4

9. Our Calling as Church Called Out verse 7 in him we have redemption. Through his blood the forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace The church (we) has redemption. The church (we) has been forgiven. The church (we) has received saving grace

10. Our Calling as Church Called From verse 4, we have been chosen and we have been redeemed that we should be holy and blameless before him. We have been called from sin. We have been called to holiness. A church that exalts God’s Holiness

11. Our Calling as Church Called To verse 4. He chose us in him. In him. verse 5 - He predestined us to the adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to himself. verse 6 - accepted by God in the beloved Ephesians 5:1 the imitators of God as beloved children.Ephesians 5:1

12. Our Calling as Church Called Under verse 8 “in all wisdom and insight, he has made known to us the mystery of his will according to his kind intention, which he purposed in him.” God made known the mystery of his will = in the Scripture. Submit ourselves to Scripture.

Our Calling as Church Called With Verse 10 “with a view to the administration or the purpose of God suitable to the fullness of time, that is the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth.” God will gather together in one all things in Christ Unity in Christ Ephesians 4: One lord, one faith, one baptism

14. Our Calling as Church Called Unto verse 11 “we have obtained an inheritance having been predestined according to his purpose who works all things after the counsel of his will. “ We live to the glory of God. That's why we exist - to his glory.

15. Our Calling as Church Called For Verse 13 “In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him….” Our responsibility is as long as we are in this world is to give the message of truth.

16. Our Calling as Church Called Before - Chosen by God Called Out- As Redeemed Called From- Sin and To Holy Living Called To- Identity Called Under- Scripture Called With- Unity, One in Christ Called Unto- Glory to God Called For- Proclaim His Truth
