15 THAI TREK 2007 n Dec 27 – Jan 5 (10 days) –Before recruiting and G-lab n Trek costs $1,800 all inclusive –Domestic airfare between 3 major cities –4-5 stars accommodation in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Krabi –Option of 3 people in 1 room –All listed activities (snorkeling, elephant riding, rafting) –Day time transportation –All meals –New years gala dinner on the beach –We will refund the difference to you at the end of the trek n Professional standards deposit of $300 per person –To ensure trek participation –We will hold the check and return it to you at the end of the trek n Please arrange your own international flights to Bangkok –Estimated cost is $1,000

16 HOW DO I SIGN UP? n Put your name on the sign-up sheet or fill out the online survey no later than Wed Sep 19 n Deposit $300 for professional standards –Please write the check to “MIT Sloan” and specify “Thai Trek” on the bottom –Drop it in Amarin Thanajitsuwan’s mail folder and send him an email n Start booking your flights

17 FAQ (1/2) n Who can join this trek? –All MIT Sloan students and their SO are invited n How many days of company visits? –We will spend 2 days visiting companies n Can I leave the trek earlier? –Yes, you can. However, we will not be able to refund the difference n Can I extend my stay in Thailand? –Yes, of course! We will be happy to help you contact the travel agency in Thailand to plan your extension n I’m worried about conflicts with recruiting –Summer recruiting does not start until Jan 7 n Do I have to get a visa to enter Thailand? –Depends. Most passports do not need a visa or can request a “visa on arrival”

18 FAQ (2/2) n How can I book international flight? –Through a travel agent which is usually cheaper than online. We can recommend one n What’s airline do you usually use? –Depends. In terms of convenience, we recommend Thai Airways direct flight from JFK to Bangkok n What’re other expenses that might occur? –Mostly incidentals such as snacks, shopping, drinks and cab fare from night club to hotel. However, the cost of living is pretty low; cab meters start at $1 n What can you tell us about the hygiene of the foods and water? –Although the government say that it’s safe to drink tap water, we recommend bottled water –We made sure that the hotels and restaurants included in the trek have meet US food and hygiene standards
