2
What lesson will be taught… The unit topic will be Mathematics. The TEKS will be, 2.7C cut two-dimensional geometric figures apart and identify the new geometric figures formed. They will also do the Daily TEKS/TAKS Review Master 15-3 Problem of the day.
3
Grade level Our Mathematical TEKS will involve second graders.
4
Learning Objectives including Bloom’s Taxonomy Children will recognize and name trapezoids, parallelograms, and hexagons and identify the number of sides and vertices in each shape. Some shapes can be combined to make new shapes.
5
How will this be taught? We will develop Concepts interactively, visually, and with Practice. Interactive learning: The children will use pattern blocks to make and trace larger shapes. They will then count the number of sides and vertices. Visual learning bridge: Visual learning animation on line CD or DVD with a visual learning transparency. Guided practice in book p.440-441
6
How will the students be evaluated? They will be tested with the Quick Check Master 15-3 and a Digital System Lesson Quiz 15-3.
