2 Introduction In the world, people in England, Italy, France, Us, Mexico, Australia and other countries celebrated Good Friday. Good Friday is a religious holiday for celebrating Jesus resurrection from his crucifixion. It is mainly celebrated by Catholic and Christians.

3 Element of culture Religion: Easter or Good Friday is the most important festival, in the Christian calendar because it’s celebrating Jesus resurrection after his execution. Also Christians and Catholics celebrated Good Friday because to remember Jesus’s suffering and death on the cross and what these means for their faith.

4 Different country celebrate Good Friday: France: In France they ate a kind of food called Brioche du Careme. It is, a kind of small rolls of bread containing dried fruit and marked with a cross. In France Good Friday is not a holiday for them in many parts of France. But islands and some cities in France consider it as a holiday.

5 In England when it is Good Friday, they serve a traditional bread called hot cross buns. The buns symbolizes the cross on which Jesus was crucified. In England also when Good Friday they make Easter bonnets or baskets and then they decorate it. They also held an Easter bonnet competition, may children participate on the competition. In the tradition if somebody wins on the Easter Bonnet competition they will get an Easter egg. England

6 US In the Us when it was Good Friday, they serve baked ham, vegetables, and potatoes. The popular activity they play this activity called Easter Egg hunt, it is a common game in the US. They also had a Easter carnival called Mardi Gras.

7 Mexico In Mexico Good Friday is called Domingo De Pasqua. In Easter season in Mexico they have a carnival, this carnival is the third largest carnival celebrated in the world after Rio de janeiro and New Orleans. In Mexico it is known as a national holiday because many schools, offices, Government office and banks are closed. Only office catering to tourism is still open. They prepared food called nopal ( a type of cactus with flat leaves) and also other sea foods because red meat is forbidden in Mexico when Good Friday.

8 Australia In Australia when they have Good Friday they serve roasted lamb, beef or chicken along with roasted vegetables. In Australia Bilby (endangered species) a native animal is considered as a symbol in Australia instead of the traditional bunny. They also have activities like Easter egg hunt so kids must hunt eggs, the more eggs they have they will be the winner.

9 Israel In Israel went they have Good Friday they serve they’re traditional food called charoset, matzah balls, kosher, matzah brei, and chocolate cakes. And also in Israel there is a church called holy sepulchre walled old city, it is decorated and prepared for Easter Celebration.

10 Compare and contrast FranceSimilaritiesEngland When Good Friday people eat Brioche du Crème, it is a cake small rolls containing dried fruit and marked with a cross. The similarities of them doing Good Friday because of religion, to celebrate Jesus crucifixion on the cross. In England they ate a traditional food called hot cross buns the buns symbolizes the cross when Jesus was being crucified. In France, some people in Good Friday doesn’t eat any meat or they will fast totally. It is also a public holiday. In England in some areas when Good Friday, they ate fish on this day.

11 UsSimililaritiesMexico In the Us when there is Good Friday, it is actually not an official holiday but many business, public schools, are closed. But in Hawaii it is an official holiday. When Good Friday the Us and Mexicans celebrate Good Friday by draping paintings and crosses in black colored, because of the suffering of Jesus. In Mexico it is an official holiday because banks and schools are closed in Good Friday. They also pray to cancer patients and American troops who have been sent to the Middle East. Many people or tourists come to the coast of Mexico, to celebrate Good Friday or for travelling.

12 AustraliaSimilaritiesIsrael In Australia they ate hot cross buns, but add a modern recipes like they add cocoa to the dough and replaced the dried fruits with chocolate chips. The two of them also commemorate when Jesus Christ has been crucified. In Israel Good Friday or Easter is celebrated on two days earlier. In Australia when there is Good Friday they have a lot of Sporting Events like Peaks Race in Tasmania and etc. In Israel people gather in groups and travel to Golgotha to mark the route of Jesus Christ journey.

13 Good Friday in my family In my family my mom says that we don’t celebrate Good Friday or Easter Friday. Because our religion is Buddha. Christians and Catholic only celebrate Good Friday or because of religion reasons.

14 Differences: Norms in Good Friday: So in Good Friday the rules are really strict. So in Good Friday we must not eat meat. They only must eat 1 full meat and 2 small snacks. People in Good Friday usually fast They may not eat meat in Good Friday because they wanted to honor Jesus more.

15 How to show respect So if we arrive somewhere in a foreign country like England, Italy, US, Mexico, Australia, and other countries who celebrated good Friday. Do not eat red meat because if you eat red meat it is impolite for them and they’re religion.
