Lilly is currently seeking a diverse work force in our Bioprocess Research and Development Division to contribute in the effort to develop and manufacture innovative bioproducts. Individuals are needed to fill the following positions: A) Technical Service Associate: Technical Service Associates in the Bioproduct Commercialization group provide technical support for process scale-up and production of bulk drug substances for development, clinical trials and launch of new bioproducts in the bioprocess pilot plants. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology or a related discipline and experience in developing or manufacturing bioproducts. B) Process Engineer: Process engineers in the Bioprocess Fermentation Pilot Plant are responsible for process improvements, including aspects of design and project implementation, while adhering to change control, environmental, and safety considerations. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred). C) Purification Development Associate: Associates in the Purification Development group are responsible for the isolation, purification and manipulation of protein products derived from various recombinant DNA expression systems. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in Biochemistry or a related discipline and experience with preparative chromatography, protein folding, enzymology and analytical characterizations. D) Bioprocess Quality Coordinator: The Development Quality Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining quality systems for Bioprocess Research and Development. The quality systems are aimed at compliance with cGMPs in support of pilot plant campaigns in Bioprocess Research and Development. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline, experience in compliance and cGMPs. E) Bioanalytical Chemist: Bioanalytical Chemists are responsible for bioanalytical method development, process development support, method validation and method transfer to quality control operations. Included in this work are writing methods, writing validation protocols, writing transfer protocols and scientifically based problem solving. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline and knowledge of ELISA, western blots, analytical chemistry, protein HPLC and immunochemical techniques. F) Cell Culture Development Associate: Associates in the Cell Culture Development group work in two related areas: the generation of new cell lines to express recombinant proteins or the development of new cell culture processes to ultimately manufacture these products. The mission of this group is to supply novel proteins to Lilly's extensive research efforts to identify new drug candidates and to develop processes to supply proteins for clinical studies and commercial manufacturing. Qualified candidates will have a BS/MS in a biological sciences discipline or biochemical engineering with specific training/experience in expressing recombinant proteins in mammalian or E. coli hosts and/or optimizing parameters critical to the development/scale up of cell culture (or E. coli) processes.
