PERSONAL WATER CRAFT-PWC PWC’s are powerboats designed to be operated by a person sitting, standing, or kneeling on the vessel rather than inside the vessel. PWC are deemed an inboard boat. PWC are pushed through the water by the action of a water pump driven by the engine known as jet drive. Jet drives may also power larger vessels. ( jet boats). The following are parts of the PWC * steering control * steering nozzle *port * stern * impeller *starboard * draft *bow * safety lanyard *drive shaft * intake grate

SAILBOATS Sailboats vary in different sizes and shapes but mainly consist of four components: The hull carries the passengers and supports the rigging The rigging included the shrouds, lines, sails, and masts, booms, etc. The keel or centerboard is attached to the bottom of the hull to off set the wind on the sail to prevent roll over. The rudder is used to steer the sailboat and is controlled by a tiller or steering wheel.

MAKE YOUR OWN BOAT!! Fold a piece of paper in half, from top to bottom. Fold the right corner into the middle of the paper. Fold the left corner into the middle of the paper. Fold the bottom of the paper up against both sides. Insert thumbs into bottom to make a square. Fold the bottom corners over each other thus creating a triangle. Insert thumbs into bottom to make a square. Hold the paper with flaps down. Fold the corners to the top point. Pull the middle out to form a square. Two triangles are at the top. Pull them apart to create your paper boat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M70OikC96fY
