Section 2 Background Information #1  One of the major parasitic relationships that other species have with us is through the disease called Malaria.  Malaria is very common in Africa and causes humans to have fevers, chills, flu-like symptoms and weakening of the immune system (causes humans to get sick easier.)

8. Section 2 Background Information #2  In Malaria, a parasite called Plasmodium falciparum infects humans and enters their bloodstream through mosquitos.  While inside the body, the parasite multiplies in the liver and is picked up by later mosquito bites to infect even more humans later on.
