Sources Of Plant Nutrients

Water Plants need water so they can stay alive. All living things need water. Water is one of the things plants need to survive .

Oxygen Plants need oxygen so they can give out the energy stored inside of it.

Sunlight Plants need sunlight to keep them warm and growing.
Without sunlight, most everything on the earth would die. Heat keeps plants living.

Soil Soil is needed for the health of plants. There are special nutrients (Nitrogen, Zinc, Iron, Potassium, Copper, Calcium, Phosphorus, Magnesium, Sulphur, Maganese, and Molybdenum) in each type of soil. Iowa’s soil is rich and healthy because it has lots of moisture and nutrients. That’s why we have good crops. Without good soil, plants would begin to struggle.

Can plants grow without Soil?
No, plants can’s grow without soil. If plants don’t have soil, they can’t grow roots. If plants don’t have roots, they can’t absorb nutrients. If they can’t absorb nutrients, they would die.
