Wordle is a great tool that creates word clouds. It can be used in the classroom in a variety of ways. --introduce or review vocabulary terms --practice spelling words --visually see words of poem or reflection --make a poster of students’ names
4
Tagexedo is another program similar to Wordle. This program differs in that the word cloud can have a shape.
6
In Glogster, your students can make a poster. Think of all the ways you could use this tool in your classroom. But these aren’t the posters of yesterday. They can have --video --music --images --text

Every Language Arts teacher will like the next few sites. Lexipedia is a visual thesaurus. It has a concept map that shows the parts of speech of each of the words attached to the entry.
10
This web site calls itself an online graphical dictionary. It displays the entry with links to synonyms, antonyms, and other related words.
12
Wordnik give a lot of information about a word. --definition --synonyms, antonyms --images --quotes with word used in them
14
The next two sites are sites where students can make and share flashcards. But the cards are not just for elementary students because older students can benefit as well.
16
Students can find flashcards already made or create their own. They can also play games such as hangman, matching, or crosswords with their terms.
18
Another site that both students and teachers will enjoy is making a voki. It’s actually much easier than you might think. A voki is an avatar that you can embed on a website—think class wiki!
20
This website lets students do all kinds of things with their digital photos. Make a photo cube Make a badge Make a trading card Make a poster

Your students will thank you
