5 Costumes of Sindh

6 Sindh Sindh is one of the four federating units of Pakistan.
Sindh is called as Gateway to Islam as it was the first province in subcontinent which fell in hands of Muslims in eighth century. It is famous for its rich heritage, old feudal culture, historical, monuments and tomb and urban charm of Karachi. Sindhi embroidery is the most eminent art on shirts, shawls and other accessories. Ajrak of Sindh is very famous for its colours. On 6th December, we observe Sindhi Cap Day to celebrate its affluent culture.

8 The culture of Sindh has its roots in the Indus Valley Civilization.
Sufism has deep affects on the culture of Sindh. Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai is one of the famous Sufi poet all over the world. Makli Graveyard in Thatta district is the world largest graveyard. The famous districts of Sindh are Nawab Shah, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Larkana. Sakhi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar is a famous mystical personality of Sindh. His Urs is celebrated very devotedly by the devotees from all over the world on 18th of Shaban.

11 Thar -- Pakistan’s largest desert of living traditions
   The Cholistan adjoins the Thar desert spreading into Pakistani Punjab province.   Thari women wear Ghaghra, long swirling skirts and work in fields. They wear chunky silver jewellery, they cover their face with an 'odhni' (veil) which protects them from harsh sun & sand.  The men are tall, dusky, twirled moustaches - with a beard – and wear turbans.

13 Punjab Punjabi Culture is the most famous culture in all over
the world for its strong of effective culture. Punjab is the largest province of Pakistan by population. Villages of Pakistan are root areas where from this renowned culture prevails. Five rivers of Punjab are life line for the agriculture of Punjab.   The scope, history, sophistication and complexity of the Punjabi culture are vast.   There are 36 districts in Punjab. Sialkot is famous for Sport goods at international level. Chiniot is very popular for its furniture and wooden art.

Needle work of Punjab is unique, because of its beautiful designs and motifs created by women. Phulkari means “Flower Work” is the most prominent object famous all over the world. Punjabi Girls in their cultural colors are worth looking. Paranda & Ghagra are high up nowadays. Bhangra on dholac beat is the most favourite segment of today’s wedding. Punjab is famous for various shrines of sufi  saints particularly Data Darbar. Lahore being the main cultural, traditional, historical and economic centre of Punjab has served as the capital of Punjab.

17 Costumes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

18 Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa A province where the perfect blend of
striking cultures that add spices and aroma to the wonderful valleys of Chitral and Kaghan, a place which has been visited by all the great empires of the olden times like Alexander the Great and Marco Polo. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is home to another Switzerland in the world, a heaven on earth, most arable land and the most picturesque lakes in the world.

20 Each year this province is a great attraction
for tourists to enjoy the beauty and calmness. It has the world's highest polo ground, Shandur, where each year a Polo festival is held in which freestyle mountain polo matches are played. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also the origin of the true Pakistani 'Pop Art' which is the highly popular 'Truck-art".  In handicrafts, it is famous for hand-woven woolen fabrics, leather-work, hand-knotted rugs, carpets, caps made of mountain-sheep wool and lamb-skin etc.

Peshawar is situated in a large valley near the eastern end of the Khyber pass Known as "City on the Frontier“. Peshawar is the centre of culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Its culture has influenced by Ghandhara culture, Pakhtun culture and Hindko culture.

24 The Kalash people reside in the Chitral district
of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They are considered a unique tribe among the Indo Aryan people of Pakistan. The Kalash people are unique in their customs and religion. Kalasha women usually wear long black robes, often embroidered with cowrie shells whereas ornate headdress is worn on festival days. Men have adopted the shalwar kameez with a special woolen cap.

27 It is situated in the Karakoram mountains , the world's second highest mountain. The most beautiful and worth seeing scenes of Northern area of Pakistan. The people of Gilgit Baltistan adhere to their cultural values.  The most important component of the dress code of Gilgit-Baltistan is khoee. It is a hand woven woolen stuffed cap. Gilgit Baltistani’s use to wear it throughout the year. They consider it as a matter of pride to wear it. The metal jewelry is very famous among women. It is liked and worn by the ladies of other regions.

29 In Pakistan Hunza valley is known as heaven
on earth. Many of the writers announce this as the “land of Peace”. It is located at 24,40 meter elevation. Hunza Valley has a great history of culture and customs. There are different festivals and different beautiful places in the Hunza valley that are presenting the beautiful picture of natural sights. Traditional dress of Hunza is full of embroidery work on collar, sleeves, shoulders and bail button. Martial included Cotton cloth , satal, cotton yarn. Embroided accessories are famous all over the world.

31 The Kashmir valley is between Himalayas
and the Pir Panjal Range. It was called Paradise on Earth by Jahangir. It’s worth seeing natural scenes attract tourists towards itself. The cultural significance of Kashmir is great.  The local dress is unique as well, with traditional citizens wearing a woolen robe known as phi ran. These are often heavily embroidered with floral motifs. Items such as the traditional earring, pashmina and pendants are popular items for tourists.  Kashmiri Muslims used to wear the pheran, a long loose gown hanging down below the knees, a white turban tied on a skull cap, a close-fitting shalwar and lace less shoes called gurgabi.

33 Balochistan Balochistan is the biggest province of Pakistan land
wise. It is situated on the southwest of Pakistan. The provincial capital is Quetta and Gawadar is the major port. Quetta is the capital city of Baluchistan. The Sulaiman Mountains decorate Balochistan's northeast area. The region also has a diverse wild life and as a result is known as the Fruit Garden of Pakistan.  Ziarat residency is of great importance and interest as the founder of Pakistan, Jinnah, spent his last days here.

35 A number of tribes constitute to make people
of Balochistan. Three major tribes are Baloch, Pashtoon and Brahvi. Everyone has a rich culture. Turban is the common headwear of the men. Wide loose shalwar and knee-long shirts are worn by all. The women’s shirt has embroidery work with embedded mirror pieces. They used to cover their head by big chadar. The Pashtun workers are experts in making fine rugs, with intricate designs, fur coats, embroidered jackets, waist-coats, sandals and other traditional Pashtun items.

37 Makran Makran is a semi-desert coastal strip in the
south of Sindh and Balochistan along the coast of the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. They are called Afro-Pakistanis and are the direct blood relatives of native Africa mainly 'Somalia‘. They are also called Sheedis and are well known for their excellence in sports, especially football and boxing.
