UPDATES 1.Families Together NYS Legislative Awareness Day 2. Media Unit presentations of “Severely Normal” 3. Is there a resource or event happening that the OnCare stakeholders might be interested in? AND THE SURVEY SAYS… 54 responses 23% identified themselves as youth or family member Overall, participants seem to like what goes on at Full Stakeholder meetings Format (monthly meeting, monthly work groups will stay the same)

AREAS FOR IMPROVEMENT Information on changes in state and national policies Work group progress reports More cross-system planning and problem-solving More outside training Access to the process for families who can’t participate in a daytime meeting

CHANGE STRATEGIES Add resource information on changes in state and national policies to every packet, and to web site Rotating schedule of work group updates (1-2 per meeting) Insert Stakeholder meeting input formally into our system redesign projects Build in opportunities for outside training (quarterly) Host an evening version of the Full Stakeholder meeting to allow more families to participate (beginning in April)

FAMILY-DRIVEN CARE Kim Kromer-Murphy 1.Develop family outreach strategies and increase family engagement. 2.Develop a process to make it easier for families to participate in OnCare opportunities.

YOUTH INVOLVEMENT Bruce Brumfield 1.Develop and implement Got Art? 2.Support “Severely Normal” performances with audience talk-back sessions.

CULTURAL AND LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE Tashia Thomas 1.Develop a community CLC training plan. 2.Link cultural brokers from targeted cultural groups with mainstream services to increase engagement, understanding and cultural awareness.

CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT K Vest 1.Monitor, analyze and present data from the community dashboard 2.Increase family involvement in CQI process (ie access to MIS service plans, training families to use the rapid cycle change process)

SOCIAL MARKETING Linda Lopez 1.Develop and implement Got Art? 2.Develop a fall community awareness campaign on a specific children’s mental health topic (ie emotional well-being, anti-bullying, trauma)

COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS Marett Seymour 1.Develop standard protocols to support successful transitions from out of home care back to school. 2.Help develop a community education series to increase parents’ knowledge and skills in educational advocacy.

CRISIS AND EMERGENCY SERVICES Michael Lee 1.Complete and distribute the Family Crisis brochure. 2.Improve and expand existing Crisis Intervention Services.

MENTAL HEALTH NEEDS OF REFUGEE CHILDREN Tashia Thomas Learning Community focused on learning more about specific refugee communities and their perspectives on mental health and treatment. March 19: Burmese representatives April 16: Iraqi representatives

GOT ART? 2012 In recognition of National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day Art by children, youth and young adults (ages 5- 21) with an emotional or behavioral challenge (all types of art are welcome) Exhibit and Celebration Event: Tuesday, May 15 from 4-6 p.m. at the MOST
