Introduction Today I will be comparing Laos and Australia because My sister went there for her world challenge so I’ve always wanted to learn about that area

Population Laos has 6,400,000 people in their country Australia has 23,000,000 people in their country Australia has four times the Laos population

Size Laos size is 230,800km 2 Australia's size is 7,659,861km 2 Australia's size is 7,429,091km 2 bigger than Laos

Capital Laos capital is called Vientiane which became the capital in 1568 and has a population of 754,000 Australia's capital in called Canberra which became the capital in 1911 and has a population of 374,245 Laos has a capital that is 343 years older than Australia and a population that is 379,755 bigger than Australia

Languages The national language in Laos is called Laotian The national language in Australia is called English In Laos there are lots of other languages because not a many people can afford to learn the national language but in Australia most people use the same language

Industries Laos industries include mining copper, gold, tin and gypsum, also Laos does lots of rice harvesting in big green fields Australia's include mining in search of gold, coal, iron ore and many other minerals and gases, also Australia includes in agriculture and truism. Australia and Laos earns roughly the same amount of money from running these industries

Currency Currency in Laos is called Laos kip Currency in Australia is called the Australian Dollar 1000 Laos kip is worth only 14 cents in Australia

Annual Income per Person in One Week In Laos the income per person is 381,048 Laos Kip, which is $51.90 In Australia the income per person is $1148.10 This happens because Laos is a poor country

Life Expectancy The average life expectancy in Laos is around 66.5 years old of men and women The average life expectancy in Australia is around 80 for the boys and 85 for the girls I believe that this happens because in Laos most people cant afford medicine

Adult Literacy In Laos the average adult literacy rate is 73% In Australia the average adult literacy rate is 96% They are very different because its very hard to get an education in Laos

Religions Laos’s national religion is Buddhism but, there are 48 other religions in the country In Australia the national religion is Christianity but, there are 9 other popular religions in Australia along with a lot of other religions In Australia there is more religions because there is a tremendous amount of other languages in Laos

Ethnic Groups In Laos there are around 160 different ethnic groups In Australia there are around 82 ethnic groups You can see that there is lots more ethnic groups in Laos.

Celebrations Currently the only celebration that the whole country celebrates in Laos New Year In Australia the celebrations include Christmas, Easter, Anzac Day and New Year. Comparing the two you can see that Australia has more celebrations because they are either traditions In Australia or christen celebrations

Imports & Exports In Laos the main imports include wood, rubber, planes and helicopters and the exports include copper, wood, suits and coffee. In Australia the main imports include gold, cars, pumps and tyres and the exports include iron, coal, gold, gas and beef. As you can see Australia and Laos have very different imports and exports because different countries have different needs

Conclusion In conclusion from comparing these countries I have learnt that Laos isn’t a very developed country and is very poor but Australia is much more fortunate than Laos in many different ways.
