3 Help improve recreational and intramural facilities at the University of Pittsburgh – Gather input/suggestion from current students Help modernize Trees Hall – Gather input/suggestion from current students Propose a new floor design for the large gym at Trees Hall – Target seating and item storage

Pitt’s Recreational Facilities: – Some are outdated – Lacking facilities possessed by other comparable universities Within Trees Hall (Large Gym): – No storage space for personal belongings – Broken bleachers No seating for people watching game No seating for people waiting to play 4

10 Penn State University, University Park – Several Gyms, Fields, Courts, and an ice rink Ohio Wesleyan University – Most popular – Indoor Tennis and basketball courts – Outdoor soccer fields, Campus Gym also popular Ithaca College – Similar to Pitt’s facilities – Most popular is main fitness center Penn State University, the Behrend College – Limited Weightlifting facilities – Many indoor options – basketball, soccer, etc.

11 Denison University – Main fitness center is, again, very popular – Desire for an ice rink Michigan State University – Similar facilities to Penn State – Indoor Basketball courts are very heavily used University of Maryland, College Park – Only one outdoor soccer field – Seven Total Basketball Courts (4 indoor, 3 out) St. Mary’s College of Maryland – Many fitness centers and outdoor fields – Three multi-purpose courts

12 Baierl Weight Room most widely-used Dorm Fitness Centers also frequently used Trees Hall used 3 rd most often for basketball, racquetball, and the weight room Bellefield used infrequently

13 Trees needs improvement more than other facilities Baierl needs very few modifications Cost received many “Needs no Improvements” votes, but still received an average score
