Bell Ringer: Get out a piece of paper and write what your goal for May. What do you want your artwork to look like before you go to 8 th Grade? Pick up a shading exercise paper from the table! After we will talk about what we want to do, and then have a still life demonstration

Good Morning! Pick a new seat today, there must at least 3 people per table. 2 boys and 2 girls. I will adjust accordingly. Get out a piece of paper and write down your New Year’s resolutions. Don’t have any? This is the time to create some! Resolutions will be displayed to keep ourselves motivated throughout the school year! Need something else to do? Get out your HR folder and write a January Goal!

Seating Chart Day: Please make sure there are at least 3 people per table. 2 boys and 2 girls. I will adjust accordingly after attendance. Bell Ringer: Name a Principle of Design and what it does. No idea what I’m talking about? Just try, be creative!

Bell Ringer: Get out a piece of paper and write what your goal for May. What do you want your artwork to look like before you go to 8 th Grade? Write it on a piece of construction paper and we will post it later with your old application! After attendance, I will write down your new seating chart, get our bins organized, and we will continue our Shading Exercise!

What are the Principles of Design? Balance – When objects appear equal in weight Contrast – When 2 or more objects are completely different Emphasis – When special attention is given to an object Movement – When an object appears to be moving Unity – When objects appear similar in artwork Rhythm – When objects repeat

Does a picture have to be moving to show movement? What does this picture have to make the figures seem like they’re moving?

What is rhythm? How do we see it in this picture? How do we see rhythm with color?

What is unity? How does this picture show unity?

Bell Ringer: get out your goal and go over it with marker if it’s difficult to see. If not get out a scrap piece of paper (or your sketchbook) and draw your books or binder
