Dinosaurs were land animals They lived at different times over a period of 180 million years They lived in different parts of the world
3
At first, the continents were joined together into one big land. Later, the land slowly broke up into continents.
4
When the continents were joined into one big land, there were large deserts. At their edges grew scrubby plants on which herbivores fed.
5
Plant and animal life was most common along the riversides near the sea.
6
When continents started to break apart, the climate changed and forests formed. There was plenty of food for herbivores and carnivores.
7
There were also large plains. Here lived herds of herbivorous dinosaurs and large hungry carnivores.
