Delivery vehicles will cause some temporary hold ups…

Bin identity Wheeled bins will be electronically scanned Unique reference number logged to property If someone’s bin is lost or stolen we can find it if it turns up at someone else's property Bins also have a serial number on the back of the bin (which doesn’t relate to the chip number) Residents can identify their bin by writing their house number on the lid

Bin Delivery - FAQs Q: Do I need to be at home to receive them? A: No Q: What if I am away? A: Could ask a friend, neighbour or relative to move containers to suitable location until you return. Q: Can you tell me which day they are due? A: No, delivery schedules expected to change however check DfY for regular updates Q: Where will my bins / containers be left? A: Just inside boundary of your property, if “assisted collection” at agreed collection point or next to door

Bin Delivery - FAQs Q: What exactly will I receive? A: The majority of households will receive the following standard containers: a 240-litre grey wheelie bin with a green lid for recycling a 140-litre grey wheelie bin with a grey lid for rubbish a 23-litre lockable, brown container for food waste a 7-litre brown kitchen caddy for food waste (delivered inside the 23-litre container) Non wheelie bin properties to receive alternative containers e.g. bags and boxes

FAQs – Information Pack We will also put an information pack through their letterbox, which includes: a guide to using the new service two stickers for your recycling containers your new collection calendar (starting from the first collection of your new service) a reusable bag for recycling batteries, and a free sample of compostable caddy liners

Bin Delivery - FAQs Q: When will optional garden waste containers arrive? A: If registered interest before 28 February then you should receive you container at the same time as the other containers. Year subscription commences date of first collection. The calendar will be posted separately. Q: When do I start to use the new service containers? A: From up to two weeks before your first collection (first collection identified on calendar)

Bin Delivery – FAQs – Old bins North Dorset- Gillingham trial area Brown 140 litre food and cardboard bins will be collected to be recycled after last collection* (w/c 3 rd June will be collected) They keep their 140 litre blue rubbish bin which is already collected fortnightly, and they keep their existing boxes for glass *properties will receive a letter informing them their brown bin will be collected on the last collection before the new service starts. Old bins (privately bought) will not be collected: Use for garden storage, water butt or take to Household Recycling Centre

Bin Delivery - FAQs Q: Where can I get more compostable food caddy liners? A: Local shops* and supermarkets. Minimum size - 7 litres. * See separate list Q: Can I request alternative containers? A: You can but we would encourage you to try the containers you have got delivered for a couple of months before requesting a change. If you request a change now we are unlikely to be able to action it for 12 weeks as we’re in a busy period.

Bin Delivery FAQ’s The lid on my bin is broken, can I have a new one? The lids on the wheeled bins warp while they’re stacked up prior to delivery, once the lid gets some sunlight on them they will return back to their ‘memory’. To encourage this you can put a brick on the top of the lid to weight it down.

Flats and communal properties Still in the process of writing to communal properties Their bins will be delivered separately to the householders bins They will be delivered after their last collection, on the w/c 27 th May or 3 rd June Old bins no longer to be used with the new service will be removed (to fit the new bins in). Many containers will be reused and therefore relabelled

Key – Main service Calendar key: Day = Collection day (recycling, rubbish and food) B = Blandford (used as largest town in Tranche 2) 1 = Starts with recycling 2 = Starts with rubbish
