Enrollment Update 2 As of Dec. 23: 101,000 enrolled 76,000 reenrolled 25,000 new enrollees Special enrollment period has been opened for those who experienced system issues to retro coverage to Jan. 1 Continuing to see enrollments; expect another surge before Feb. 15

Premium Aggregation 3 Exchange Board voted to remove premium collection and invoicing functionality from individual Exchange Approximate Exchange savings: $6 million in biennium Currently developing plan and timeline for removal; will regularly report on progress Work closely with carriers to ensure new processes are as seamless as possible Learnings from federal and other state exchanges will be important to improve customer experience

Implications of Removing Premium Aggregation 4 Anticipate that consumers will start paying and receiving invoices from carriers during next open enrollment Two step process: After selecting a plan, consumer will be directed to pay carrier directly (enrollment will not complete until consumer pays) Clear communications to consumers on role of the Exchange and role of the carrier in enrollment process will be critical Should expedite receiving insurance cards after payment

Implications of Removing Premium Aggregation (continued) 5 Should allow Exchange to focus on key areas of eligibility and enrollment Turn to shopping tools to improve customer’s experience and more easily understandable information on choosing a plan Carriers will have a more direct relationship with customers, something most of them are accustomed to Providers will receive enrollment information more quickly from carriers
