You will use your notebook daily. You will record all your thoughts, observations, and notes. You will keep all papers in your notebook. You will turn your notebooks in at the end of each chapter/unit.

The Left SIDE “LOVES” student work. This is the side that you can use to show me your creativity. This is the “output” or product side. We call this is “WIO” or “Work It Out” Section. The Right side is “RESTRICTED” and contains only information given by Mrs. Rollin. We call this the “WOW” or “Words of Wisdom” Section. The notebook is divided into TWO sections.
12
LEFT side “loves ” STUDENT work = OUTPUT RIGHT side is “restricted” to TEACHER INPUT
13
The LEFT SIDE belongs to you. On this page you may include any diagrams, cartoons, questions, drawings, poems, foldables, etc. that is assigned for homework or reflection after a lesson. Let your CREATIVITY go wild!

Science Warm-Ups Graphic Organizers Drawings/Illustrations Poems, Rap Songs Cartoons/Comics Lab Analysis Teach Your Parent YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO BE AS CREATIVE AS YOU WANT TO BE
20
The RIGHT SIDE is for notes, labs, diagrams or anything else given during teacher instruction time.
21
The RIGHT side of the notebook contains information given to you by Mrs. Rollin or obtained during class time.

We’re Not Finished Yet… Flip to the back of your notebook – Starting on the LAST page you will be recording your daily “bellwork” activity/question – We call this the “RAP”: “Review and Process” – These are usually a short activity to help you “review” what we learned the day before or “process” new ideas to help introduce a new topic
25
Review and Process We will not necessarily have a RAP every day but you will keep a weekly page in the back of your notebook to organize them RAP’s are a good things to study quickly before a test or quiz because they are snap shots of what we’ve been learning
26
Scissors colored pencils Erasable pens & pencils NO MARKERS! TWO Composition Books (1 per semester) Glue or glue sticks HIGHLIGHTER

Author’s Page On the first page of your notebook you will create an “author’s page”. You are the author of your science notebook, so this page is all about you. The page should include your name, a picture of yourself (drawn or photo), and drawings of things that describe you (things you like to do, your favorite things, etc.)
