10 Definitions Automatic Initial Distribution (AID)
AID is the automatic issue, in predetermined quantities, of new or revised map, chart and related products by NIMA to customers with established AID accounts. All Pacific Fleet commands identified in the A will be provided AID service for all allowance items. 1.6-10

NIMA, nautical chart coverage of the world is divided into 52 geographical sub-regions as shown in CATP2V01U with each sub-region being assigned a two-digit portfolio number. The portfolios consist of charts with either “A”, “B”, or “X” designation. 1.6-11

Ensures users automatically obtain the latest edition of NIMA products Imperative for updating safety of flight information Receive new products right after production To establish/change an AD account you must complete the format letter and fax to DLA at (804) or DSN Format letter on DSCR’s homepage under ordering information menu Call (804) or DSN after faxing to ensure it was received Account revalidations occur annually 1.6-32
