A rt & Literature In the sixteenth century Italian artists and Italian styles dominated the visual arts in France. French artists and French styles that dominated the European artistic arena by the end of the eighteenth century. The major trends in French art during the early modern period (1600– 1789) reflect the establishment of France as a nation-state and its rise to a position of international power. In the sixteenth century predominantly Italian artists developed a court- based art in an elegant, mannerist style; in the seventeenth century, although the Italian influence continued, reflecting the trends of realism and classicism practiced in Italy. Since then they have changed.

Religion France has traditionally been a catholic country and today approximately 80% of the population of France ascribe, at least nominally, to the Catholic religion. In reality, however, France is a deeply secular country which seen the role of organized religion in the lives of people in France diminish ever since the revolutions in in1780 and 1804. Many French people who are counted as belonging to the Catholic religion have not been. The vast majority of Catholics in France do not attend church regularly or even at all. Even if they move in to the USA they would probably still celebrate their same religion.

Yum In Provence, France the people eat many different foods, one food they eat is: Ratatouille; A vegetable soup that is popular in many places. 1.1 red and 1 green bell pepper, roasted, skins and seeds removed. 2.4 tomatoes, blanched, skins and seeds removed. 3.1 medium eggplant, cut into large dice. 4.3 small zucchini cut in half inch slices. 5.1 large onion, roughly chopped 6.5 cloves garlic, chopped 7.Salt and pepper to taste 8.Olive oil as needed. 9. Assorted herbs, chopped, to taste Once you are done you will have a Ratatouille that almost anyone would enjoy.
