LEGISLATIONS FACTORIES ACT -1948 ( Safety in Manufacturing activity) Act is in enforcement since 1881 and enforced by State Governments Machine Guarding, Specific provisions for certain operations such as Solvent Extraction Plants, Agro- chemicals Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health Exits, Illuminations etc.

Introduction to Global Harmonised Systems (GHS) Our Country is a signatory to treaty concerning harmonisation of Labels under GHS However presently practised system will undergo very minor changes under GHS To have a unified and standardised approach Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India has initiated certain steps and has also established a dialogue with the industry.
