STEPS TAKEN BY PAMA PAMA welcomes IUCN and its partners’ initiative for organizing this WORKSHOP in Karachi Our member companies have taken several steps for improving vehicular emission which includes: Production of CNG vehicles in economy segment Introduction of catalytic converters in Toyota, Honda and Suzuki Liana cars, starting from 2005. PAMA’s Executive Body established a planning & coordination sub committee to deal with introduction of advanced emission standards.

Industry Readiness Motorcycles: New models will be Euro compliant from July 2008. Gasoline Vehicles: New vehicles/models will be Euro-II compliant from July 2008. Diesel Vehicles: The proposed date to apply Euro-II is Jan. 2009. [to be synchronized with availability of low-sulphur diesel]
