3 End Zone Play Alignment End-zone referee on goal line or just in front of line – not behind High-zone referee – inside attacking zone no deeper then highest attacking player

4 High Zone Face-off Procedure High Zone Alignment

5 Goal Scored Goal line referee points and blows goal, reports goal, then waits for center spot face-off. High zone referee retrieves puck, monitors player change, controls line change, executes center spot face-off.

9 Off-Side Pass Good eye communication between referees If one referee points, other referee must wash or whistle

10 Power Play Tag-Up PowerPlay Goal Short-handed Team Power Play Team Low referee points towards PP Team zone watching until last player tags-up at centre line High referee backwards skates into PP Team zone but not too deep… go to goal line if a hard fore-checker

11 Shoot-Out Alignment #1 Home Visitor Home zone – visiting team shoots first Deep referee just in front of goal line – his whistle starts play Outside referee places puck at centre floor then skates between player benches 1 2 Benches

12 Home Visitor Shoot-Out Alignment #2 Visitor zone – home team shoots second Referees switch ends – 2-puck system for shoot-out Both ends – referee washes “no goal” or points “goal” 1 1 2 2 Benches
