Question Does the weight of paper a paper airplane is made out of affect the distance it flies?
3
Purpose The purpose of my investigation is to determine if the weight of paper a paper airplane is created out of affects the distance it flies. This is important because if I wanted a paper airplane to carry something or to free fly, I would know what resource to use.
4
Hypothesis I hypothesize that the weight of paper used to make a paper airplane will affect how far it flies . I think that because construction paper is heavy. The plane made of construction paper will not fly the farthest distance across the measurement. Lets Find Out…

Directions 1.Gather Materials 2.Mark Start With Visible Tape 3.Weigh each type of paper. Record Weight. 4.Construct One Plane From Tin Foil 5.Fly The Plane. Record Distance 6.Reapeat Step 5 Four More times 7.Repeat Steps 4-6 Using Newspaper 8.Repeat Steps 4-6 Using Loose Leaf Paper 9.Repeat Steps 4-6 Using Construction Paper 10.Repeat Steps 4-6 Using Copy Paper

Conclusion My hypothesis was correct. The weight of paper used to make a paper airplane does affect how the plane flies. The average flight distance of the tinfoil plane was cm. The average distance of the construction paper airplane was cm. The average of the loose leaf paper was If I could change something I previously had done I would use high tech robots to build my planes so they could be very precise and would all be the exact same model. The other thing I would do is use more trials and more resources .
