QUESTION: DOES THE WEIGHT OF PAPER A PAPER AIRPLANE IS MADE OUT OF AFFECT THE DISTANCE IT FLIES?

PURPOSE The purpose of my investigation is to determine if the weight of paper a paper airplane is created out of affects the distance it flies. This is important because if I wanted a paper airplane to carry something or to free fly I would know what resource to use.

HYPOTHESIS I HYPOTHSIZE THAT THE WEIGHT OF THE PAPER A PAPER AIRPLANE AFFECTS THE DISTANCE IT FLIES.

PROCEDURE

Materials - TIN FOIL 5 PIECES 8 ½ x 11 -LOOSE LEAF 5 PIECES 8 ½ x 11 - CONSTRUCTTION PAPER 5 PIECES 8 ½ X 11

Variables Manipulated Variable -Type of paper Responding Variable - Flight Distance Constant Variables -The Design, Method of Throwing, Measuring Flight Distance

directions 1. Gather materials 2. Mark start with visible tape
3. Weigh each type of paper . Record weight 4. Construct 1 plane from tin foil 5. Fly the plane . Record distance 6. Repeat step 5 four more times 7. Repeat steps 4-6 using news paper 8. Repeat steps 4-6 using loose leaf paper 9. Repeat steps 4-6 using construction paper 10. Repeat steps 4-6 using copy paper

My hypothesis was correct
My hypothesis was correct. The weight of paper a paper airplane is made out of does affect the distance it flies. The average flight distance of tin foil plane was M. The average flight distance of the construction plane was m. The average flight distance of the loose leaf plane was 806.2m.If I did this again I would use different paper. Conclusion
