2. HEAVEN AND HELL Christians believe that, after death, they are held to account for their actions during life. If they are deemed to have led a sinful life, they are sent to place of punishment. If they have led a pure life they join Jesus in paradise, a place of eternal peace and joy. These notions are described in the Book of Revelation which borrows heavily from Greek mythology.

3. HOWEVER! MODERN CHRISTIAN THINKING TENDS TOWARDS THE IDEA THAT HEAVEN AND HELL ARE PERSONAL INDIVIDUAL “STATES OF BEING OR AWARENESS” AS OPPOSED TO PHYSICAL “PLACES”.
