TESTING METHODS ADOPTED FOR ANALYSIS Methodology for Monitoring of Quality Standards Ex – Factory /Pre Auction /Post Auction / Pre Imports / Post imports / Pre Shipment/Post Shipment/ Retail Regular Sample drawing by Tea Inspectors / Instructors 1 st Analysis for sensory Quality (Appearance ) by Tea Testing Division for crude fiber content which should not exceed 16.5% Samples not conforming to ISO 3720 are referred for Analysis to the Tea Board Laboratory Country : Sri Lanka

Line of Action – Sri Lanka Lines/samples below ISO 3720 std. on account of crude fiber content up to 18% is sent for upgrading to the factory. Lines/samples below ISO 3720 std. on account of acid insoluble ash (siliceous matter ) above 1% and up to 2% are sent to the factory for upgrading Lines /Samples below ISO 3720 std. in terms of water extract and alkalinity are de-natured
