2. Growing Bacteria Method: Wearing gloves, wipe all surfaces clean with disinfectant. Then collect remaining equipment. Sterilise all equipment using a Bunsen burner flame at its hottest temperature hot the equipment in flame until red hot ( only do this with metal equipment ) Then cool the equipment with distilled sterile water. Open the glass bottle your chosen bacteria is in hover the mouth of the bottle over the Bunsen flame. Use your sterile wire loop to collect some bacteria out of the bottle. Then carefully smear onto your agar jelly in the Petri dish. Put your lid back onto your Petri dish quickly and seal the edge before cleaning all your equipment again in the way you did at the beginning. You can repeat this process doing different patterns which you will see on your agar jelly when you have left it for a few days.

3. Disinfectants 1.Collect your equipment : disinfectants agar jelly Petri dish paper circles 2. Your agar jelly should be in your Petri dish. Soak paper circles in each of the disinfectants you want to test. 3. Put your paper circles carefully onto the agar jelly 4. Leave your Petri dish for a few days so bacteria can grow
