1 1 Spring 2010 SELLING LAPTOPS TO SMALL BUSINESSES

2 2 Help Customers Cut Costs and Increase Efficiency with a Smart Mobile Investment This presentation will help you understand... – Why customers should refresh their laptops – The key benefits of the all new 2010 Intel ® Core™ processor family – How new Intel ® Core™ vPro™ processors deliver additional small business benefits with easy PC care – How you can overcome common buyer objections

3 Now, More Than Ever, Intel Is the Best Choice for Smart, Reliable Computing Replacing older equipment can help: Increase employee productivity Reduce support costs Enhance security 213

4 Reduce Support Costs Older laptops are slower, break down more often and they cost more to maintain and power. 1 - Repair and maintenance can run up to 1.65 times more on a PC older than 3 years. 1 - PCs older than 3 years are 4.5 times more likely to experience a hard drive failure. 1

5 Successful small businesses are efficient and responsive; the newest and fastest laptops can help them stay competitive. Increase Employee Productivity 2 -Nearly 65% of small businesses report that employees who travel can be more productive with a laptop. 1 -On average, mobile PC users are up to 51 additional minutes more productive each day. 2

6 New computers have enhanced security features, which are vital for small businesses that need to protect against new threats. Enhance Security 3 Mobile image PCs that are 3 or more years old can experience up to 1.3 times more security incidents. 1

7 You Know Refreshing Is Important. Meet the Processors that Adapt to Business Needs. The best choice for small businesses on the go. Mobility, manageability and security – that’s PC intelligence. INTRODUCING THE ALL NEW INTEL® CORE™ PROCESSOR FAMILY

8 Intel® Turbo Boost Technology speeds up the processor when workloads require extra performance. 3 Intel ® Hyper-Threading Technology allows each processor core to work on two tasks at once. 4 Run business productivity applications up to 2x faster. 5 The All New 2010 Intel® Core™ Processor Family Provides Intelligent Performance and Efficiency Intelligent performance meets ultimate mobility.

9 How to Explain It: Think of Intel® Turbo Boost Technology like the air conditioner in a car. In normal mode, the air conditioner delivers a certain amount of air through the dash and floor vents. When you shut off the floor vents, it can use the extra power to deliver more air through the dash. In the same way, the Intel® Core™ i7 processor is configured to deliver a certain amount of power to each core. However, if one or more cores is not using that power, the processor can automatically and intelligently divert extra power to the operating core. The result is the operating core can run at a higher than normal frequency and complete its tasks faster. 10 10 Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology Smart Multitasking 10 How to Explain It: Intel ® Hyper-Threading Technology gives customers 4-way (and 8-way) multitask processing that allows each core of the processor to work on two tasks at the same time. Like toasting two pieces of bread in a two- slot toaster instead of using a single-slot toaster twice, you can get more done in the same amount of time. Available On:

18 Help Your Customers Reduce Costs and Downtime with the All New 2010 Intel® Core™ vPro™ Processor Family Available on: IT support (inside or outside the company) can help prevent PC issues, and get employees back up and running faster when PC issues do occur: – Remotely see and repair employee systems, even beyond the firewall with KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) Remote Control. 6, 8 –KVM Remote Control can be utilized even when the laptop’s operating system has crashed.

19 How to Explain It: Intel® AMT KVM works both below and within the OS (in other words, you can edit the BIOS and the operating system’s registry), and it even works without the OS running. Once Intel® AMT KVM is installed in the BIOS, there is no need to load software into the OS. 31 31 Legal Information (cont.) 6. Intel® Active Management Technology requires the computer system to have an Intel® AMT-enabled chipset, network hardware and software, as well as connection with a power source and a corporate network connection. Setup requires configuration by the purchaser and may require scripting with the management console or further integration into existing security frameworks to enable certain functionality. It may also require modifications of implementation of new business processes. With regard to notebooks, Intel AMT may not be available or certain capabilities may be limited over a host OS- based VPN or when connecting wirelessly, on battery power, sleeping, hibernating, or powered off. For more information, see http://www.intel.com/technology/platformtechnology/intel-amt/. 7. AES-NI is a set of instructions that consolidates mathematical operations used in the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. Enabling AES-NI requires a computer system with an AESNI-enabled processor as well as non-Intel software to execute the instructions in the correct sequence. AES-NI is available on Intel® Core™ i5-600 Desktop Processor Series, Intel® Core™ i7-600 Mobile Processor Series, and Intel® Core™ i5-500 Mobile Processor Series. For further availability of AES-NI enabled processors or systems, check with your reseller or system manufacturer. For more information, see http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/isn/downloads/intelavx/AES-Instructions-Set_WP.pdf. http://softwarecommunity.intel.com/isn/downloads/intelavx/AES-Instructions-Set_WP.pdf 8. KVM Remote Control (Keyboard Video Mouse) requires the presence of integrated graphics and is only available with dual- core Intel® Core™ i5 vPro™ processors and i7 vPro™ processors. 9. Intel® IT Director utility is available for Intel® Core™2 Duo and Intel® 2010 Core™ processor-based systems. Specific security and manageability features as well as power-efficient performance make these systems the first choice of business customers.
