TITLE Title should reflect to book’s personality (theme) Visible ( 5- 10 feet away) Creative Spelling must be correct Labeled

AUTHOR/ ILLUSTRATOR Board should have the name of the author and or illustrators name Typed Labeled Stenciled letter Neat Visible Spelling must be correct

SETTING-TIME & PLACE Spelling must be correct Labeled Written in paragraph form Minimum of 75 words describing the setting-time and place Can include picture to aid in understanding

PUBLISHER/ PUBLICATION DATE Publisher’s name Spelled correctly Publication date

MAIN CHARACTERS Labeled Spelled Correctly Description of each main character (minimum of 2 characters) May dress as one of the characters to aid in understanding Character analysis (how a character may have changed) Minimum of 150 words describing two characters See questions provided to guide your thinking

SUMMARY/ PLOT Spelling must be correct Labeled Written in paragraph form Minimum of 75 word summary/plot

THEME The tone is the overall feeling that you get from the story. When describing the tone, use a lot of descriptive words that tell what the author was trying to show. What is the author trying to make you feel? Spelling must be correct Labeled Written in paragraph form Minimum of 75 words describing the tone/mood Can include picture to aid in understanding

VISUAL AIDS You may use visual aids in your project. Visual aids must aid in the overall understanding of your book Visual aids must be explainable You must be able to tell why the visual aids are there

VERBAL PRESENTATION You will present your board verbally to other (judges) You will need to be able to explain all ten points on your board You may have note cards to assist you in your presentation ( however you are not to read from your note cards)

CHARACTER You may dress up as your character Clothing must be school appropriate You may speak as if you are the character in your verbal presentation

MATERIALS It is your responsibility to ask for material ahead of time DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE If you need certain material request need to be made 2 days prior to needing them

ROUGH DRAFT You can create a sketch of your Story Board Use the graphic organizers provided to help you in your planning Read your book and have fun doing so Use your time wisely Ask questions for clarification Have fun!!!!!!! Let your personality shine through
