6 How Arch Issue Was Resolved Case Study #2 6 Deteriorated structural steel was removed and replaced, with details matching original. Bearings were removed and replaced. Concrete deck was removed and replaced Precast concrete panels Cast-in-place concrete surface

8 How Railing Issue Was Resolved Case Study #2 Railings were removed from bridge and delivered to a fabrication shop. New finials were added and made larger to fill the openings. Edges were welded to uprights. Railings were painted and reinstalled. 8

10 How Stone Facing Issue Was Resolved Case Study #2 Missing stones were replaced with matching stones. Entire abutments were tuckpointed, with color to match existing. All surfaces were gently cleaned to remove moss and dirt. 10

12 How Lion Statue Issue Was Resolved Case Study #2 110 year old statues were in good condition with minimal graffiti. Cleaning used a gentle process with water and light power wash. Digital 3D image will be prepared in near future. 12

13 Lessons Learned/Conclusions Rehabilitated bridge is part of beloved, historic park. Bridge and lion statues are enduring symbols of a celebrated Milwaukee landmark. Cooperation and collaboration between all parties lead to an extremely successful, award-winning project. Case Study #2 13
