4 Simple Past Basic Form: Subj + verb (past form) EX: I finished. Definition: to talk about actions that happened at a specific time in the past. 5 Simple Present Basic Form: Subj + verb (present form) EX: Sally drives. Definition: to describe the present activities or to talk about routines or habits. 6 Simple Future Basic Form: Subj + WILL + verb (present form) Ex: He will show Definition: used in many situations such as when making promises or predictions. When you arrive in Stockholm, call my friend Gustav. 8 Past Perfect Basic Form: Subj + HAD + verb (past form) EX: I had written Definition: to emphasize that an action in the past finished before a nother action in the past started. 9 Present Perfect Basic Form: Subj + HAS/HAVE + verb (past form) EX: I have read Definition: used to express actions that happened at an indefinite time or that began in the past and continue in the present.
