Abortion : for or against ?

I’M FOR ABORTION !

People who are for abortion are called pro-choice. Those who are against are pro-life. I’m a pro-choice and here is what I believe: Having a baby is an important responsability. After birth, a baby has the right to live and to be loved by his parents. But sometimes, the parents are too young and know that they won’t be able to give to their baby what he needs: time, love, money... They know that they will make him suffer. In this case abortion is a solution. In the case of under-age pregnancy, the girl may not have really understood what she was doing. She should not leave school, lose her education and career oportunities because of one mistake. She should have a second chance. Moreover, in some cases, the baby can be severely handicapped. Only the mother can decide if she can look after the baby. Life will only bring pain to the baby. Seeing the baby suffer will bring pain to the mother. In the cases of rape, the victim has the right to choose abortion. The woman did not choose to get pregnant. You cannot force her to hold the baby. It would cause psychological problems to the mother. Furthermore, the mother has rights. She has the body right. You cannot force her to carry a baby. She’s not a machine. Abortion cannot be considered has a murder. The fetus has the posibility to become a human, but it’s not a human: it doesn’t have a conscience. Today, abortion is safe.

I’M AGAINST ABORTION !

I’m a pro-life and here is what I believe: Abortion has various advantages but these are not with no drawbacks. First of all, abortion is seen as a murder. no civilized society permits one human to intentionally harm or take the life of another human without punishment, and abortion is no different. Thus, in some countries such as Poland or Ireland abortion is totally forbidden. For many other countries it is permitted until a certain period after pregnancy. In Sweden, Abortion is legal 16 weeks after pregnancy whereas in Italia it is allowed 10 weeks after pregnancy

Furthermore, Abortion is a complicate and a dangerous proceed because in some cases it involves a surgical operation which is not really obvious. Then it increases the chance to have infectious diseases for example pelvic inflammatory which is a disease caused by a bacteria or an organism to the female reproductive system. Pelvic inflammatory Disease (PID)

Those who choose abortions are often minors or young women without enough life experience to understand fully what they are doing. Many have lifelong regrets afterwards. In addition, Abortion frequently causes intense psychological pain and stress

Religion and Abortion Buddhists regard life as starting at conception… They also think that the new being is therefore as entitled to the same moral respect as an adult human being. Buddhists don’t really get involved into the debate of abortion, they just say that it’s personal. Buddhists are expected to take full personal responsibility for everything they do and for the consequences that follow. The decision of abortion is a personal one. Of course, abortion, from a Buddhist viewpoint, is an act of killing and is negative. But it depends on the circumstances. “If the unborn child will be retarded or if the birth will create serious problems for the parent, these are cases where there can be an exception. I think abortion should be approved or disapproved according to each circumstance.” Dalai Lama Buddhism

Hinduism Hinduism is therefore generally opposed to abortion except where it is necessary to save the mother's life. Classical Hindu texts are strongly opposed to abortion. It’s compared to a murder, seen as the worst sin ever, worse than killing one’s parents. Even if, abortion is forbidden by hinduism, some hindus culture in India practice it for their preference for sons. In order to prevent the birth of a girl babies, they proceed to a “female foeticide”. According to the doctrine of reincarnation a foetus is not developing into a person, According to the doctrine of reincarnation a foetus is not developing into a person, but is a person from a very early stage. It contains a reborn soul and should be treated appropriately. “Hindus believe that all life is sacred, to be loved and revered, and therefore practice ahimsa or non-violence. All life is sacred because all creatures are manifestations of the Supreme Being.”

There are other ways to avoid pregnancy apart from abortion. different methods of contraception are possible: Combination birth control pills prevent ovulation Male or female condom that avoid the contact between the two gametes. It is solution against sexual transmitted diseases There is also retraction which avoid the spread of sperm cells in the vagina. Even though It is not really efficient, it could be a solution Diaphragm or IUD can be put into the vagina in order to avoid the meeting of the gametes and also to reduce the mobility of the spermatozoa In case of an emergency, you can use the morning after pills within three days after the intercourse. This can prevent the implantation of embryo. In conclusion, abortion can be such a good thing in some cases. Il can bring a lot advantages. However, it is considered as a murder by some cultures, religions. And as there are so many ways to avoid pregnancy abortion should be applied as a last solution and with caution
