5 basic rules in Football
Time-Wasting: If a player holds the ball to long when the opponent should have possession or they kick it way Handball: Using your hands during play on purpose Pass-back: When a player passes back to his goalkeeper and he picks it up without it being a header or volley Offside: If a player who’s attacking receives the ball behind the opponents defensive line, they get called for offside Diving: When a player simulates getting fouled, to try win a free-kick or get their opponents booked

Assessing The rules Rule: Pass Back Example: This is often given wrongly, because sometimes on the way back it takes a deflection off a defender and the keeper picks up the ball, but the referee will still give a free-kick inside the box. This rule is important because when it wasn’t a rule players passed back to their keepers to many times, and they used to pick it up and were able to waste time by booting the ball long.

Assessing the regulations
Studs If you’re not wearing the right type of studs you will be ineligible to play and the referee will send you into the changing room to swap your boots, this is useful because if you wear studs too big there’s a chance of ruining the turf and injuring the other team.

Roles of the officials Fourth official: Assists other match related tasks as directed by the referee. Linesman: They stand on both sides of the pitch and they mainly judge offsides, but they also judge throw-ins and corners, sometimes if the referee makes a wrong decision over a free-kick or penalty, the linesman can tell if they’re wrong and the referee will award the decision the other way.
