2
Select the Appropriate Nozzles: Use the 5940 Method Can get you close to your target GPA. Your product label often describes the proper GPA (gallons per acre) for your sprayer. example. 20 GPA is recommended Use the 5940 METHOD to find nozzle size
3
Verify that all nozzles are equal
4
Use New Technologies to Verify Nozzle Uniformity when Needed Spot On Spray Calibrator Determines Nozzle Flow Rate $134.96 Agrimart Owensboro, Kentucky Tel: 270-684-4202 www.agrimart.net
5
Spot on calibrator The SpotOn SC-1 is best for flow rates below 1 GPM, including spray tips for herbicide & insecticide application. In most cases a tip can be measured in 10 seconds or less. Shows readings in either GPM, oz/min, or Liter/min Plug into the 5940 for easy calculations of output or speed
6
Using 5940 to get an idea what your field speed should be Let’s say you need to spray 10 GPA, you have 24” spaced nozzles, and your nozzles deliver 0.2 gallons per minute. Speed = (GPM x 5940) / (GPA x W) Speed = 1188 / 240 Field speed = 4.95 miles per hour

Determine GPA of Boomless Sprayers
10
Calibrate my sprayer app: CLEMSON FREE IPHONE, ANDROID, IPAD ) insert values in each input box, select what you want the app to calculate (Volume/Area or Catch/Nozzle), and tap 'Calculate'. Sprayers can be saved with user-defined names.
11
Making this even more easy with the ‘Calibration Assistant’. Contains the tools to make calibration easier. Can aid in testing output of nozzles -Aids in determining output (GPA) for many types of equipment -Conversion Page -Instructions -Determines -product to add to tank -acres you can cover

Tank Mix App This is a free mobile app from precision industries. http://www.mixtankapp.com/onlineapp/index.php Contains over 1,300 crop protection products from over 17 manufacturers. Mixing orders can contain up to 19 products. Mix Guide: receive a recommended mixing order based on the products selected Mix Sheets: enter field size, spray volume, tank size and product use rates and receive rate per acre, per tank and per field for accurate documentation and compliance. Easily share to integrate with existing records. Spray Logs: stopwatch and notifications (every 60 minutes) allow you to conveniently record GPS location, time spent spraying and weather details. A notes section also allows for additional record keeping Mixing Precautions: alerts users of potential tank mixing issues. Note: if an issue is not listed, please let us know through the feedback section and it will be added after review ★ Winner of AgProfessional magazine’s Readers’ Choice 2011 Top Product of the Year Award! ★ Highly Commended for the "Best Stewardship Program" at the 2012 AGROW AWARDS! *

Nebraska Recordkeeping App - PeRK Record your pesticide applications according to the 1990 Farm Bill. Catered to the Nebraska Pesticide Education Program but still applicable to applicators in Montana. Free Compatible with Android, Iphone, Ipad, Ipod Touch PerK http://cropwatch.unl.edu/web/cropwatch/archive?articleID=5177543 http://cropwatch.unl.edu/web/cropwatch/archive?articleID=5177543

This app records GPS records location pesticide applied and how much was applied, product application rate, target site and pest(s), date and time of application, temperature, wind speed, and disposal method. The records are saved and stored within the app on the device and can be exported via email as a.csv file, which can be opened in Microsoft Excel and other common software programs.
