10 High Flyers Survey Largest recruiters in 2008: accountancy & professional services firms: 3,700 trainees. 2009 recruitment numbers have already been revised sharply downwards. Employers now expect to hire almost 3,400 fewer graduates in 2009 than they planned at the start of the recruitment season.

11 High Flyers Survey Almost half of employers expect to recruit more grads in 2010 but a quarter warn of further cuts to recruitment. Areas in decline Consumer goods, down 3.9% Engineering and industrial, down 2.1% Public Sector, down 4.3% Top investment banks seeking a third more grads than 2009. Law making a slower recovery due to deferrals.

12 High Flyers Survey Research with 1,001 final year university students shows that job hunters are even more pessimistic about their career prospects than finalist were in 2009. More than 90% of finalists think that employers will cut their vacancies in 2009 60% of student job hunters have little confidence that they will find a graduate position
