3 What is Title I? The intent of Title I is to provide supplemental instruction to help children have the opportunity to obtain high-quality education and to reach proficiency on the state’s challenging standards. 3

4 4 Targeted Assistance Model NCLB Section 1115 Asotin is considered a “Targeted Assistance School” Students are tested, using objective and multiple data sources Serves only designated students based on rank order list Rank order list includes multiple assessments, teacher input, and parent input

6 6 Professional Duties NCLB Section 1119 Teacher provides assessment, lesson plans, and modify instruction based on evaluation Paraprofessionals may instruct in small groups or tutor one-to-one if supervised by highly-qualified teacher in close proximity
