Equipment Placement Need 4 of the previous 15 areas where the chillers were planned to be placed. 2 for 1 chiller each 1 for two pumps / PLC/ Panel 1 for water reservoir Which 4 areas is unimportant however: – Would like to use 2 close to each end of the building Erik Voirin; Mike ZuckerbrotNOvA Water Cooling System2

Recent Cooling System Changes 16 TEC’s in Series instead of 32: Pros: – Allows the system to run at lower pressures Less chance of leaks, lower leak rate in case of leak. – Lowers the range of highest to lowest TEC water temperature May be important for aging TECs? Previous Range was ~3.8C, new range will be ~2.1C Erik Voirin; Mike ZuckerbrotNOvA Water Cooling System5

Recent Cooling System Changes 16 TEC’s in Series instead of 32: Cons: – Requires more hoses (higher heat leak) – Requires larger pump (higher electrical use) – Higher initial and operational cost (slightly) Overall Effect: Slightly less cost effective design but with a larger margin of safety for leaks and TEC/TECC issues.
