Tasks Initiating, monitoring and self-evaluation Development of innovative approaches and measures to improve tourism, increase the attractiveness of the community as well as to strengthen the regional economy and to protect important natural resources Consideration of project proposals that support the implementation of the Regional Development Concept Setting priorities for project funding / deciding on funding projects Monitoring of the networking project / overall implementation Information and public relations (multipliers) Structure: multi-territory / transnational cooperation

Chairman LAG Members …reflect necessary technical and business knowledge for the central action; …secure the political links with the counties and municipal level; …represent important groups of interest such as rural women, young people, gastronomy ect. …identify with the concerns of rural areas and are committed to sustainable development Chairman: County Commissioner Johannes Fuchs, Rems-Murr-Kreis

Regional Development Concept 2007-2013 Local groups develop their own project ideas, “from the region for the region" Projects are introduced into the LEADER process The LEADER process in the region and from the region is implemented by LAG structure (parliament) It is possible for new projects to be introduced, ultimately until the end of eligibility period (EAFRD) 2013 (municipalities, associations or private individuals represent a project application) Funded by the European Agricultural Fund for rural development (EAFRD) Bottom-Up Approach
