Artist Name: Chuck Close Born: July 5 th, 1940 Art Movement: Photo-Realism Fact: Close struggled in school as a child except in Art class and was not very popular Fact: In 1988, Close suffered a rupture of a spinal artery and became mostly paralyzed. Through physical therapy he was able to regain some strength and began painting again
