HOW DID NORTH and SOUTH AMERICA BECOME POPULATED?
4
THEORY 1: Beringia: The Land Bridge
5
Beringia Proof: DNA studies suggest that all humans today descend from a group of African ancestors who—about 60,000 years ago— began a remarkable journey. Human remains found in North America 13,000 years ago are closely related to tribes from Asia; more specifically - Siberia

Theory #2: Pacific Ocean Migration
7
Pacific Ocean Migration Thor Heyerdahl – Despite losing all of his academic credentials, Thor Heyerdahl believed that South America became populated by humans migrating in rafts across the Pacific Ocean. Kon Tiki Raft – sailed in 1947 from South America to Polynesia in the Pacific and then back again to South America. DNA suggest possible migration.

THEORY #3: Atlantic Ocean Migration
9
Atlantic Ocean Migration No historical proof Very little DNA evidence Thor Heyerdahl sailed the RA and RA II – Reed boats using Ancient Egyptian techniques in 1970. Travelled from Morocco to South America. Why: Thor Heyerdahl had several questions? 1. Why are there pyramids in South America/ Mexico? 2. How do they know how to work gold? 3. How come Native Americans look more like Egyptians than Siberian Eskimos?
