All Electric Homes (1,300 sq ft/main floor, unfinished basement) Tenants learning the impact that changing furnace filters makes on their energy costs Before December 2009 bill: Averaged $85- $110/month One young family’s bills were previously around $160/month, but they had forgotten to change their furnace filter in the 4 months they’d lived there. Now, after changing the filter, December’s bill for sub-zero temperatures was well under $200.
