EQ 10: Lifelong Learning By: Marcus Peyton
2
Part 1: Tools used in the course
3
The programs used in this course are all digital which is the standard for everything these days. All assignments are done on computers and printed out weather it be presentations or resumes for a job its all done through programs we used in computers 10 so its bound to come up later in life for something. This course is the learning curb for a lot of these programs. How do tools used in this course contribute to lifelong learning?
4
PowerPoint for assignment and weebly for the hand in. What tools I use for portfolio submission?
5
Mainly PowerPoint and Prezi being the two big ones as they're the two most viable for presentations. Obviously Word as well. What tools will I use in future courses?
6
Part 2: Media Deconstruction Question On Principles and elements of design PowerPoint Visual Comp (Beauty EQ) Principles of Design.pptx Principles of Design.pptx
7
Constructed with PowerPoint. Got info from definitions looked up on the internet to know what they're are and understand them better. Added background pictures behind text after. How did you construct your visual presentation?
8
I'm pretty good with PowerPoint so it wasn’t too hard to organize stuff. Its strengths are informing unknowing people about the principles of design which can be a huge benefit for people starting this course. What are the strengths of this project?
9
Getting everything organized nicely and making it look perfect. The entire thing took longer than it would have seemed because of the pictures and the sourcing afterwards as I didn’t do that for the first half. What did you work really hard on?
10
Many of the pictures don’t work out well cause of the lighting on them it made the text super hard to read or just didn’t fit for the whole slide. Next time I would probably get the pictures first then do the text so it isn't so much trial and error finding the right picture. What didn’t work?
11
Was brining up the principles of design and informing people what they where by using clear definitions and pictures to also get the point across. What point or question was I trying to answer in the visual comp?
12
The target audience would be anyone who is seeking guidance on the principles of design. It can sometimes be very hard to find clear answers on some of those so this PowerPoint would help make it faster. It could appeal to anyone but mainly students and artists. Who is the target audience?
13
Just written words a visual pictures are used to get the point across on my visual comp. What is the text of the message of the visual comp?
14
Not much but the good detailed pictures help get my message I'm trying to give across to people. Making the PowerPoint colourful and appealing helps with a different sense of design after every click. What persuasion tools where used?
15
Yes. I would highly recommend this to another student because the principles of design come up a lot in this course and I find they're more difficult to understand the elements of design. If someone new coming into this course saw my visual comp I believe it would help benefit them greatly in completing the assignments given for this course. It beats having to look them all up one by one and putting them into words like I did. Would I recommend this project to another student?

Part 3: Elements and Principles of design for visual comp 10 Elements or Principles and how they where used
17
Form (3D shapes) – This can be seen on almost every slide as every slide as most of them have 3D pictures used to represent what I am talking about. The full background pictures add a certain feel for ever slide. Color – Color can also be seen in almost every slide as it helps express the topic I was typing about. Color brings out more meaning to the slides. Light – I felt I used the lighting on pictures well. Emphasis slide has little light cause the focal point is on the apple and it made it look more noticeable. But Harmony has lots of light colors as it made everything more in tune with each other for that particular principle. 5 Elements in Principles of design visual comp
18
Tone – The tone in some of the pictures is darker than the tone in others. Like I said about emphasis the tone is darker because it is made to have the focus on one thing and not multiple. But the tone is lighter in some others for needed reasons for that principle. Mass – The mass on the crayons carries a greater visual weight because of the scale of them and how much of the background they take up the multiple different colors make the picture seem more heavy since there is a lot of equal distributed weight with little focus on unfilled spaces. Elements Cont.
19
Proportion – Can be seen in the picture with house and the path archway. The archway from where the picture is taken looks to be the same height as the greenhouse but in reality its much smaller as the angle from where the picture is taken makes it look similar in size. Contrast – Best example is from the house on the inside from the light coming in the windows it makes the house look quite gloomy from the shadows caused by the outside light. Repetition – Seen from the repeating blocks in the ground on one of the pictures. Keeps the same pattern all the time. 5 Principles of Design for visual comp
20
Balance – The chess pieces are symmetrical balance cause of the reflection so are the blocks in the ground and the color wheel to an extent. Every other picture represents asymmetrical balance as they're not even pictures. Variety – Can be seen throughout the entire PowerPoint none of the pictures are the same and they all represent something different. Principles Cont.
