16  Established in 1990 to increase Hoosier students’ aspirations for and access to higher education  Income-eligible students enroll in 7 th or 8 th grade  Students who fulfill the Scholar Pledge earn up to four years of paid tuition at an Indiana college 21 st Century Scholars Program

17 National model for increasing college access: Student Participation: More than 100,000 Scholars enrolled statewide in middle school through college. High School Graduation: More than 90% of Scholars graduate from high school (86% for all Indiana students) College Access: 75% of Scholars enter college directly after high school (64% for all Indiana students) Scholar Success
