ACT Reports ACT provides two types of reports: –Graduating Class ACT results – based on the previous graduating seniors –NEW: State-wide administration results for the 11 th grade administration

The 2012 ACT All NC 11 th grade students were administered the ACT in March 2012 –9 other states with same requirement: Colorado, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, North Dakota, Tennessee, Wyoming Baseline year as a high school measure in the new NC READY accountability model –College and Career Readiness

2011-12 State Testing Program All Grade 11 Students: –ACT – English (45 mins), Mathematics (60 mins), Reading (35 mins), Science (35 mins), and Writing (30 mins) Standard Time, ACT-Approved Accommodations, and State-Allowed Accommodations Not used for accountability in 2011-12 Used for accountability in 2012-13

WorkKeys Administered to seniors who are Career and Technical Education (CTE) completers –Students who have completed 4 sequential CTE courses Determines whether students have the foundational skills needed in specific occupations

WorkKeys Three core areas: –Applied Mathematics –Locating Information –Reading for Information High scores earn students varying levels of a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)

What is the National Career Readiness Certificate? The NCRC, issued by ACT®, is a portable, evidence-based credential that measures essential workplace skills and is a reliable predictor of workplace success.

WorkKeys and Accountability SBE voted in December 2011 to include results from the ACT and WorkKeys in the READY school accountability model. Silver, Gold and Platinum Certificates are considered to have ‘met standard’
