5 Mins – Students will look at the uses of Web Animation. Start a brief discussion to assess prior learning.

Turn to the person next to you and come up with a definition of web animation.
This definition should contain at least 2 statements about web based animation.

5 Mins – Students will look at the uses of animation and discuss this with the person sat next to them. Generate interest looking at loacal jobs.

4. Impact of web animation
How is web animation different to more traditional animation?
Take a moment to think about traditional animation – this could be anything from The Simpsons to an animation about changing a light bulb.
Write down what you feel is the most important difference web based animation has compared to a traditional animation. – Write this on a post it note.
Think about the uses.
While you wait: - explain why this is so important – how could it benefit people?

Task:
In your group (no more than 4) you will be given one of the uses listed. For this you will need to present to the class exactly what makes this different from the rest.

7. Research task
You are to research a specific skill in Flash that you have not been taught. This is to go towards your project.
Document this new skill using Flash.
You will be asked to show an example of this skill and write a brief explanation.
Remember to reference where you learnt the new technique.
As an extension students can look at researching new skills in Flash. This will be used as part of their project.
