(John 15:5) The gift of the Spirit (John 14:15-27) “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counsellor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth.… You know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.” (14:16-17) The Spirit’s operating system: 1. Bringing glory to the Father and the Son “He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.” (16:14/ cf.14:13) 2. Love and obedience “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (14:23) 3. Peace and trust “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.” (14:27)
