2. Job Description
Record Producers are individuals working within the music industry.
Their job is to manage the recording of an artist’s music. They are involved with every part of a CD creation.
The record producer works with the band, sessions musicians and the studio engineer to "produce" the sound.
They may be involved with arranging parts of the track or writing it.
They work towards producing an album by gathering ideas, selecting songs/musicians, coaching the artists or musicians in the studio, controlling recording sessions like supervising the entire process of producing a song with mixing/mastering and they also take responsibility for the budget, schedules and negotiations.
When in the studio, the Producer works with the Engineer, advising them of the specific sounds and/or feelings they are trying to portray through the song. This happens for the entire studio session, as the Producer adds their opinions and personal touches to each recording.
A record producer’s goal is making a successful chart topping album. To do this, they start with the following steps:
help an artist select the song to be recorded.
find a studio then arrange the studio for recording time.
choose an Arranger plus Engineer and reach out to a contractor to find background vocalist for the song been produced.
Record the song and mix it in to its final version.
Work on licensing, copyrights, providing forms and releases of who receives credit for each proportion of the album.
Submits receipts and pay bills to the record label.

3. Salary
If on staff at a record company, the Producer may earn a base salary, along with royalties from the records they have produced.
The label pays freelancers a fee for the producing services, and always paid royalties on the songs they produce. It makes sense that those Producers with a proven track record can negotiate for larger royalty payments, and this money is often advanced beforehand.
Staff Record Producers may earn anywhere from $27,000 to $75,000 plus per year, while very successful independent Producers may earn up to $1,000,000 or more annually.

4. Schooling/Training
There's no standard level of education needed to become a music producer but many producers posses college or music school degrees, obtaining a college or music school degree.
Some attends sound recoding school to learn more about the recording process.
many colleges offer music production programs - traditionally at the bachelor's degree level. These 4-year programs cover a broad range of courses to expose students to recording arts technology and the music business as a whole. Sample course topics include recording industry law and ethics, sound editing techniques, digital audio software and electronic music. Students may need to either produce a full-length recording or participate in an internship in order to graduate. Baccalaureate programs may result in a Bachelor of Science in Music Production or a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in production.

5. How to Become One
Consider learning an instrument: training your ear and learning musical theory will hugely benefit the career as well as composing your own songs, mastering tempos, or learn to play from sheet music; understanding music from the other side of the soundboard will make one better equipped to hear its full potential.
Master the technology: create and manipulate music. Learn how to use a soundboard and many music-processing programs.
Start networking. Tell your family and friends you're producing music. Create business cards. Post bulletins around your neighborhood.
Get an internship at a production company: get some free time in a real recording studio and make friends in the industry7
Save up. Saving money can help start one’s own studio.

6. Valuable Experience Working as recording studio receptionist
Working as floor manager or recording engineer.
Some producers start off by finding an artist or group, funding their recording and producing the album independently.
Recording studio or record label apprenticeships are another option for gaining experience.

7. Required Skills
Have a background in music theory and harmony as well as experience in playing or arranging music. Producers should be informed by some degree of music history or theory.
Have skills in playing an instrument as well as songwriting.
Are proficient at developing relationships and interacting with others which secures apprenticeship with established producer.
Are familiar with studio techniques and have knowledge of a wide range of digital and analog recording equipment.
Have unusual degree of patience and ingenuity to smoothly manage the disagreements between musicians with creative ego and artistic temperaments.
Have relentless ambition and the ability to self-promote since making it in music production takes a lot of hard work.
